How It Started
We are parents. And like many parents, we asked ourselves: How can children stay active at home in a safe, free and meaningful way – not only outdoors, not only in good weather, and not only when there is time for a trip to the playground?
We wanted to give our children thoughtful opportunities for active play at any time – including at home. We searched, compared and tested for a long time, but we could not find anything that truly met our expectations for safety, design, quality and everyday practicality.
So we decided to create CLIFF.

CLIFF is an Austrian family-owned company with a clear idea: children need more space for real active play in everyday life – and parents need products that are safe, durable, beautiful and practical for everyday use.
What began as an idea inspired by real family life has grown into a brand for high-quality wooden climbing toys, learning towers, active play furniture and accessories that encourage children to be more active while fitting naturally into modern living spaces.

Why CLIFF Exists
Children today are often less active than they used to be. In everyday life between home, kindergarten, school, city living, changing weather, busy schedules and screen time, opportunities for active play can easily be overlooked.
That is exactly why CLIFF was created.
We wanted to develop products that do not limit active play to playgrounds, sports classes or family outings. Children should also be able to climb, balance, slide, explore, help and grow at home – in a safe environment and with products that parents are happy to have in their living spaces.
CLIFF therefore stands for one simple idea:

Our Story
It did not start with a business plan, but with a real need we experienced as parents. We wanted products we could trust ourselves. Products that give children freedom while giving parents a sense of security. Products that are not quickly outgrown or forgotten, but can be used for years.
When we could not find the right solution, we began developing our own vision: high-quality wooden active play products that support children’s development while fitting naturally into modern living spaces.
That is how an idea grew into a brand with a clear belief: children need more movement, more independence and more real play at home.

Why We Manufacture in the EU
From the beginning, it was clear to us that CLIFF should be manufactured within the European Union. Not only because quality and short supply chains matter to us, but also because we want to show that European production can be competitive and affordable.
We want to support local and European economic cycles. That is why we source many raw materials and components from within the EU – from wood, ropes, cardboard and coatings to many other materials used in CLIFF products.
This decision not only makes our products more tangible and transparent. It also connects us with many people and businesses whose work contributes to the quality of CLIFF.
